(Proverbs 22:11 MSG). This verse stayed on\u00a0my heart today as I asked the Holy Spirit to speak to me during my time with Him. \u00a0I ask\u00a0God every day\u00a0to search my heart and soul and sanctify me, purify my heart. \u00a0It is so easy for me to wake up and make the day all about me. \u00a0What can I say or do to be praised by people, how are my needs being met, how will this certain thing effect\u00a0me, how will I look if I don&#8217;t do as good as I want to, why do I have to do this, pride and selfishness are at the heart of the battle. \u00a0And make no mistake about it, it is a battle (and that is a conversation for another day ). \u00a0My flesh \u00a0wants life to be about me, \u00a0but my spirit\u00a0longs for \u00a0humility and selflessness. \u00a0This has led to some uncomfortable experiences for my flesh. \u00a0Let me warn you , if you ask God to \u00a0make you more like Him, He will, If you are truly willing. \u00a0Ask for humility and He will teach you how to be humble. \u00a0He will take you through circumstances \u00a0that force you to either be humble or run the other direction. \u00a0Ask Him to teach you how to live a selfless life and He will \u00a0give you \u00a0opportunities that you probably wouldn&#8217;t have chosen yourself . \u00a0But please do not misunderstand what I am saying; \u00a0the road to becoming more like Him is not easy, but it is the most amazing, fulfilling and rewarding \u00a0life you could ever experience. \u00a0Father, please purify my heart , give me opportunities today to learn how to\u00a0be more like you.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 22, 2012 God loves the pure-hearted and well-spoken; good leaders also delight in their friendship.
