For years I heard people talk about hearing from God yet I couldn’t seem to hear from Him \u00a0(although I faked it as if I did). \u00a0\u00a0I didn’t want to look unspiritual and after all everyone else was seemingly hearing from Him perfectly fine. \u00a0When I faced a crisis in my life I prayed and asked God for guidance other than that my conversations with Him\u00a0were very limited. \u00a0I did the “work” of God far sooner than I had a relationship with Him. \u00a0Doing the work of God got me recognized and after all that was satisfying me temporarily. \u00a0But it never was fulfilling past the temporary praise , I was still empty and still wondering why I couldn’t hear from Him when I prayed \u00a0and asked for guidance when making the important decisions in my life. \u00a0It was when I was facing\u00a0insurmountable trouble that I turned to God and began to learn how to hear from Him.<\/p>\n
2 Chronicles 15:4 MSG But when they were in trouble and got serious, and decided\u00a0to seek God, the God of Israel,\u00a0God\u00a0let himself be found.<\/p>\n
When we truly search for Him, He will let Himself\u00a0be found. \u00a0So how do we search for Him? \u00a0Spending time in God’s word and in prayer. \u00a0I started with a few minutes most every day (not every day) and as time went on I wanted my time with Him to be more. \u00a0I was no longer satisfied with five\u00a0minutes a day. \u00a0But I am so glad that God meets us where we are! \u00a0He walks with us as we mature. \u00a0My challenge to you if you are wanting to hear from God but feel like that is for the “more spiritual”, start where you are, download the Bible app on your phone and read His word a few minutes a day and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself. \u00a0When praying, begin with the Lord’s prayer and just talk to God as if you were talking to a good friend. \u00a0He will meet you where you are. \u00a0You just wait, if you truly search for Him, He will be found.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
