http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Z_nAmiBRINU&feature=youtu.be<\/a><\/p>\nI have considered writing on this topic for sometime now. \u00a0Pride, this has been a very real struggle for me over the years; although it took me a long time to come to the conclusion that it was pride. \u00a0It reared it’s nasty head in so many facets. \u00a0One of the major struggles for me was with our business. \u00a0Jason and I had a business opportunity in 2001 in a predominately male industry \u00a0(we partnered with a friend in this venture – another male). \u00a0It was my mission to prove I was just as valuable as the men in our industry. \u00a0I frequently reminded people I was not “Suzy Homemaker” and I was just as much part of this business as Jason and our other partner. \u00a0To top it all off I frequently was asked about “my husbands” business. \u00a0Oh, that would infuriate me! \u00a0Why do you assume it is my husbands? \u00a0As God started to transform me, He started showing me how proudful I was in so many different areas, especially with this. \u00a0I slowly realized how destructive my pride was and how much God hates the sin of pride. \u00a0This wasn’t the only area I struggled with pride; in making decisions, it seem to come back to what about me and how will this make me look, feel and will I be the “winner”. \u00a0My marriage suffered because of my pride – “I’m not going to say I’m sorry”, everything was a competition and I wanted to win, I wanted to be the sole decision maker. \u00a0Thankfully, I can share this with using a past tense format – although I’m not perfect and still deal with the issue of pride, thankfully not to the same degree. \u00a0I guess that goes back to growth in Christ; the more we spend time with Him, the more we act like Him. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span><\/p>\nIn Proverbs 6, God list seven things that he hates, and one of them is pride. \u00a0The Bible says Pride leads to destruction. \u00a0I think all of us would agree with that statement from scripture. But do we fully understand what pride is in our own lives and realize the more we allow pride to live within us the more danger we should expect. \u00a0<\/span>James 4:6 declares “….God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” \u00a0 So which would you rather be, the proud, who thinks they deserve it all – to be number one, to be in complete control of everything, the one who is never wrong, the one who refuses to submit in any circumstance? \u00a0Or the one who is humble in spirit, the one who is willing to serve others, the one who is willing to submit to authority, the one who is slow to anger, the one who is willing to give God all of the glory. \u00a0I know where I want to be and that is what I continue to strive for – I’m not perfect by any stretch of the imagination – but one day at a time God can transform me to His image.<\/div>\n
\n<\/span><\/div>\nJoyce Meyer said this\u00a0<\/span>“<\/em><\/span>To truly live a confident, humble life, you’ll need to remember where your abilities come from. The more talented you are, the more humble you should become. It should amaze you that God would put those gifts in you. It should amaze you that God would enable you to do anything.
