“Enjoy the Beauty of the Process”  This is something Beth Moore said in her Bible Study entitled The Study of James, Mercy Triumphs.  This sentence has been resonating with me ever since – “enjoy the beauty of the process”.  I think it is direct opposite of how I typically lead my life.  I have a goal in mind and my focus is to work to figure out how to reach this goal, most of the time minimizing what God is steadily doing, working on me and missing what God has for me each day.I tend to focus on the end, not the process. I sometimes reason it as God didn’t promise everything would be good in our life, just that He would work it all together for His good so just hunker down and survive until you get to what God really has for you.  Please don’t misunderstand me, I completely believe that it is not all good but all works together for good, but Scripture says He wants us to have life and have it abundantly.

That must mean we are supposesd to enjoy the beauty of the process.  Instead of focused each day on what the future holds and working like crazy mad men and women to accomplish an end, focus each day working in sheer excellence for our Lord and keep our focus on today, enjoy each moment of the day, soak in His beauty, soak in the experiences of today.  (This does not however mean, we are not to have vision and goals – I will write on this at a later time.)

What does God have for you today?  He is trying to teach you something, He is trying to use you to meet a need in someone else’s life.  I understand we all live stressful, busy lives, but slow down, take a few minutes, be quiet and reflect on what God has for you today.  What work is He wanting to do in you today?  Who does He want you to minister to today – whether in word of encouragement, spiritual nourishment or financial blessing?  Are you enjoying today no matter where you are in your journey?  Are you experiencing His joy and peace no matter what chaos is stirring in your soul and life?  That is what He wants for you.  He wants you to be filled with His peace, His love, His joy and His mercy.
